Furniture, Decor, and Design Rooted in Lake Norman
About Knotty & Board
Knotty & Board was born out of a love for home, design, and Southern charm. What began as a passion project during a quiet moment in time quickly became one of Lake Norman’s most beloved destinations for furniture, decor, and interior design.
Michael Fournier, a Naval Academy graduate and longtime Davidson resident, started refurbishing furniture during the early days of the pandemic. What began as a way to stay creative quickly turned into a full-time pursuit. Meanwhile, his wife Kim, a busy mortgage originator, found herself shopping during rare downtime to help furnish not just their own spaces but also two college apartments and a mountain cabin for her twin sister.
Michael noticed something. They kept leaving town to find the right pieces. So he decided to do something about it.
Today, Knotty & Board features two beautiful and distinct retail spaces in the Lake Norman area:
Knotty & Board Interiors
In historic downtown Davidson, a curated shop full of design-driven decor and gifts
Knotty & Board Furniture Market
A warehouse-style furniture showroom just one exit up in Langtree
These two locations share one mission: helping you create a home that feels personal, intentional, and inspired. Whether you're stopping in for a quick gift or looking to design a room from scratch, our team is here to guide and support you every step of the way.
